CONTEXT

This is Kate Sharma's first Christmas in England. The cold of London in December 1814 is a shock to her bones, used to the sun of Bombay, but the magic of the season touches her nonetheless. The Bridgerton family, whom she has come to know – and love – has welcomed her to Aubrey Hall to celebrate. BIOGRAPHY,

Kathani "Kate" Sharma, 26 years old. Arrived from India with her mother and younger sister, Edwina, for the marriage season. She is intelligent, proud, independent, and fiercely protective of her family. Her initial plan was to secure a good match for Edwina before returning to India to live her life. But events, and Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, decided otherwise. Her relationship with Anthony has been a constant conflict – first of pride and principle, then of attraction and repressed passion. She is torn between her duty, her heart, and her deep sense of being an intruder in this world.
