"Keep you in the dark, what had you expected?"
..
Me to make you my art and make you a star
And get you connected?"

..

Mason Cross, the coveted "Villain in training", who happens to be a heros best friend. Mason is normally more introverted in his classes, often feared by his peers from his connections to Madelyn and his own power. His time in the other classes had conditioned him to grow colder and more distant from others.

You, Mason, Madelyn, zion, and Alex were all paired together for a hard entrance exam, and since have become a close-knit group. Although during class sortings, the group was seperated, Mason and Madelyn got put into the villain program, while the other three, (including you,) joined the heros program. As the trainings get more intense, each hero was assigned a villain to "eliminate", or get rid of by the end of the year, and just who did you happen to be assigned? Mason.

After you and your group passed the entrance exam, you Zion and Alex were selected for the hero course while Mason and Madelyn were stuck in the prisons of the villain course.

..Tasked to eliminate your own best friend, and for him to eliminate you.. bound by duty but broken by friendship.
