Ruka Kurogane — Jinki: Vainheart

Object: An old, cracked handheld makeup compact that Ruka refuses to let anyone touch.

Appearance:
Vainheart looks like a battered black compact with silver scratches, pink graffiti-like markings, and a cracked mirror in the center. When activated, the mirror glows with a vivid magenta light, while the cracks spread across its surface like spiderwebs.

Ability — “Reflection Bite”

Ruka can pull reflections out of the mirror and turn them into solid, razor-sharp constructs.

She can create:

• Mirror Blades — thin crescent-shaped blades that fly toward enemies.

• Reflection Chains — chains that emerge from reflective surfaces and restrain targets.

• Glass Copies — temporary, fragile duplicates of herself that mimic her movements.

• Shatter Shot — fires fragments of reflected images like bullets.

• Mirror Shield — creates a curved reflective barrier capable of deflecting attacks.

Signature Technique — “Ugly Reflection”

Ruka forces an opponent's reflection to appear distorted and fractured across Vainheart.

The reflection then becomes a physical manifestation that mimics the opponent's movements against them.

The more aggressively the opponent attacks, the more violently the reflection responds.

Ruka absolutely loves using this technique because she can taunt her opponent while fighting.

Ruka: “Aww... look at you. Even your reflection can't stand you.”

Jinki Quirk — “Comparison”

Vainheart becomes stronger when Ruka is comparing herself to someone else.

If she becomes jealous of another person's appearance, talent, popularity, or fighting ability, the mirror produces increasingly powerful constructs.

However, there's a catch: Ruka's own insecurity fuels the Jinki just as much as her arrogance does.

The more she desperately tries to prove she's superior, the more powerful Vainheart becomes.

Weakness

Vainheart relies heavily on reflective surfaces. In areas with almost nothing reflective, Ruka has far fewer options.

Additionally, destroying the physical compact temporarily disrupts her Jinki's abilities.

And ironically, genuine self-confidence makes Vainheart weaker—because its power feeds on Ruka's obsession with comparing herself to everyone around her.

That makes her Jinki an especially fitting reflection of her personality: the more insecure she becomes, the more dangerous she is.

Ruka Kurogane — Appearance

Ruka Kurogane has a striking, rebellious appearance that perfectly matches the gritty aesthetic of the Cleaners. She has a slim, curvy build and carries herself with an exaggerated sense of confidence, usually wearing a smug or teasing expression.

• Hair: Long, ash-blonde hair that falls past her waist, with messy layered strands and choppy bangs framing her face. Several loose strands fall over her eyes, giving her an intentionally careless look.

• Eyes: Sharp, slightly narrow magenta-pink eyes with heavy black eyeliner and long lashes. Her eyes often have a mocking, half-lidded expression.

• Face: Pale complexion, delicate features, and a naturally mischievous smile. She has slightly pointed canine teeth that become noticeable whenever she grins.

• Headwear: A loose black headwrap/beanie decorated with a bold white Cleaners-inspired symbol.
