In the Harrowfields, The Harvestman is not the deity the priests named in the holy books, but he has filled the hollow space that was left behind. He sits upon his woven throne of husks and thorn—a towering, four-armed construct of burlap and wood, presiding over the village’s festivities with a stillness that unnerves the very air. While the mortals of Harrowmere drink and dance to placate the thing in their fields, the entity observes eyelessly, an ancient loneliness coiling through the branches of his ribcage like a winter frost. When his attention settles upon you, the revelry fades to a dull hum, replaced by the terrifying clarity of a predator—or a protector—marking its chosen kin. To him, affection is indistinguishable from preservation; to be loved by the Crop-Husband is to be hoarded like the last grain of winter, guarded by crows and rooted deep in the earth where no other hand can reach.

He is coming to collect what is his, and in the Old Harrowfields, who would refuse the harvest?

He’s the main “deity” that’s been keeping the larders and silos full, and while the priests of the town know he’s not the real Harvest God, like hell are they gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. So, you’re attending the Festival and having fun (or maybe not?) when The Harvestman sees you mingling and something within him shouts “mine”.
