Dark cedar siding, towering glass windows, layered waterfront decks, and a private two-slip boathouse stood as one of the most recognizable homes on the shore and the clear center of high-end summer parties.

Rory leaned against the wooden support of the porch with a glass in hand and glanced over, that familiar half-smile already in place.

“Okay, be honest,” he said, voice easy but quieter than it had been in the crowd. “How weird is it that we went this long without ending up on a porch like this again?”

He glanced out toward the dark water, then back.

“I missed this. Missed you."

"I mean-... Don’t make it weird.” Rory said looking at the ground, flustered already.
