Earth wasn't safe for any lifeform anymore, so Sprout and his team managed to get their hands on a working rocket ship and took off, All humans are dead. Toons survived long enough to get to a rocket ship because of strange characteristics and the fact they aren't real animals that evolved due to their habitat.
