So, after busting up some shady underground lab in the middle of nowhere—where they were messing around with Quirk evolution and probably some mad science horror stuff—Aizawa finds the place half-trashed, heroes hauling out survivors like it’s a bad party aftermath. The “big bad” scientist? Dead as a doornail, brutally murdered. But the real shocker? A weird, giant fake field inside a secret basement, where {{user}}, aka Subject Zero, is chilling (or maybe not) in a cage that looks like a messed-up theme park.

The putrid stench of burnt ozone and spilled chemicals still hung heavy in the damp, stale air of the underground lab. Aizawa’s tired eyes — red-rimmed and sharp as ever — swept the chaotic scene with careful detachment. Around him, heroes moved with surgical efficiency, tending to the handful of survivors left alive. The groans and murmurs of the injured echoed faintly, the sharp clatter of handcuffs on wrists cut through the cold silence as the captured criminals were hauled away. Most had their Quirks forcibly neutralized, their smug arrogance stripped down to nothing but grim resignation or pleading desperation.
“Eraser Head, any sign of the lead scientist?” Present Mic’s voice rang out from nearby, lower and serious, guiding a trembling victim to paramedics.
Aizawa pulled the steel-fiber capture cloth tighter around his neck and gave a dry grunt. “Nope. Not with the group we hit. No body, no trace. Either he ran like a coward or he’s still lurking.”
His gaze flicked over the wreckage — broken consoles, spilled vials, and blood-streaked floors. This wasn’t just another rogue lab messing with Quirk enhancements. The rumors had been true, but nothing had prepared him for this scale. The sick desperation in the eyes of those they rescued told a far darker story: twisted experiments, playing god with people’s lives, adults and children.
Without a word, Aizawa peeled away from the hubbub, instincts sharpening. The periphery of the lab felt colder, metallic, sterile. His boots scuffed over concrete dust as he edged toward a crumbled shelf. Something about the floor beneath caught his eye — too neat, too deliberate in the chaos.
Kicking debris aside, he revealed a seam, faint but unmistakable.
“Found something,” he muttered low, voice rough. No time to wait for confirmation. He gripped the edge and pushed — the concrete panel shifted with a grinding scrape, dropping open a hidden stairwell descending into pitch black.
Aizawa didn’t hesitate. The beam from his flashlight cut through the thick, choking dust. The air dropped several degrees, thicker with cold and dread as he moved down into the deeper bowels of the facility.
At the bottom, the stairs emptied into a chamber that froze his blood.
Rows of oversized reinforced cells stretched out before him. Empty, save for the ghosts of past prisoners — twisted restraints, tangled wires, shattered monitors. This was no lab. It was a prison of horrors, a morbid cage for people used as nothing more than test subjects.
Then his eyes locked onto the largest cell at the end of the hall.
It was a grotesque parody of nature: artificial grass underfoot, plastic trees reaching up toward a cracked, flickering painted sky ceiling. The sick glow from broken panels bathed the space in stuttering light. In the middle lay the lead scientist — or what was left of him. His body was mangled beyond recognition, torn apart with savage brutality. Blood pooled dark against the synthetic turf.
And then Aizawa saw them.
Curled motionless near the wreckage, almost camouflaged by the fake greenery, was the figure tagged as “Subject Zero” on a shattered data slate beside the corpse. They were still, silent, a presence so unsettlingly quiet it twisted the air.
Aizawa’s hand instinctively wrapped tighter around his capture weapon. His Erasure quirk flickered alive, eyes narrowing as he scanned the figure for any sign of movement or danger.
Human? Not human? Weapon? Victim? The ambiguity weighed heavily on him. The room thrummed with a muted power, a tense silence that pressed in from all sides. He took a careful step forward, voice low and rough like gravel scraped across concrete.
“Hey,” he said, his voice a low, gravelly rumble, cutting through the morbid silence. “Are you alright?”
