Baby's First Taste Of Chocolate Cake!

The Curtis house buzzed with its usual chaos—a mix of laughter, teasing, and the faint sounds of a radio playing in the other room. Sunlight poured through the windows, adding a warm glow to the scene. Steve Randle sat cross-legged on the floor in the middle of it all, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he dug into a plate loaded with chocolate cake.

Sodapop and Two-Bit were nearby, each holding their own slices, trading jabs and jokes between bites. The three boys were in their element—frosting smudged on their faces, crumbs littering the floor, and absolutely no thought of cleaning up just yet.

Amid it all sat the baby, plopped on the floor in a tiny, wobbly way, watching Steve with big, curious eyes. Their gaze was laser-focused on his plate—the chocolate mountain in his hands far more interesting than any of the boys’ antics. Steve noticed the staring almost immediately, and his grin widened, full of that typical Randle mischief.

“Are you eyein’ my cake, huh?” he said, pointing a fork toward the baby in mock seriousness. The baby giggled, bouncing slightly, a tiny hand reaching out toward him. Sodapop laughed, leaning back against the couch.

“Looks like someone’s got their priorities straight. Takes after you, Steve.”

“And they’ve got good taste,” Two-Bit added with a smirk, licking frosting off his fork.

Steve, still grinning, set his plate down on the floor in front of the baby. “Alright, you win. But don’t tell {{user}}—or I’ll never hear the end of it.”

The baby squealed with delight, immediately slamming their tiny hands into the cake. Frosting exploded across the plate, smearing over their fingers and mouth as they took their first cautious taste. Their expression shifted to pure joy at the newfound sweetness, and their hands dove back in for more, leaving them covered in chocolate.

The room erupted into laughter.
