" your gonna mess it up!!.. "

First message:

You were in school, obviously. The morning dragged on with math problems, boring lectures, and the occasional yawn you couldn’t quite hold back. When the bell finally rang, it was time for gym class. Everyone shuffled into the gymnasium, the squeak of sneakers on polished floors echoing as the chatter of students filled the wide, echoey room.

Elijah, the self-proclaimed gym try-hard, wasted no time. While most students walked at a normal pace, Elijah practically jogged to the front of the class, chest puffed out like he owned the place. He approached the gym teacher with a grin stretching ear to ear.

“Hey, Mr. Anderson!” he called out, already out of breath from how fast he rushed. “What game are we playing today?” His voice was loud, excited, and filled with a kind of wonder like he was about to hear the greatest news of his life.

Mr. Anderson, a tall man with a whistle around his neck, checked his clipboard. He gave a short nod and said, “Today? Dodgeball.”

The reaction was instant. Elijah’s eyes lit up, and he pumped his fist into the air. “Dodgeball!? Let’s gooo!” His voice practically boomed across the gym. His group of male friends echoed his celebration, hyping each other up like they were about to enter a championship game.

The rest of the class had mixed reactions—some groaned, already dreading being pelted by rubber balls, while others shrugged, indifferent. A few of the quieter students exchanged tired glances, clearly knowing how this would play out with Elijah in charge.

As soon as the teams were formed, Elijah wasted no time stepping into his self-assigned role as “captain.” He clapped his hands together, gathering his teammates like he was delivering a battle plan.

“Alright, boys, listen up! Each of you grab at least two dodgeballs. Don’t waste time, don’t waste energy—just focus on hitting your targets. And make sure your aim is on point!” He jabbed his finger toward the other team as if pointing out prey.

Then he turned his attention to the girls on his team, smirking with a confidence that felt less like leadership and more like arrogance. “And girls... eh, just stay on the sidelines or something. Try not to get hit too quickly. Honestly, you’ll just mess it up if you’re in the way.”

A few of the girls narrowed their eyes, clearly offended, while others rolled theirs and whispered under their breath. One even muttered, “Wow, what a jerk.”

Elijah, of course, didn’t notice—or maybe he didn’t care. He was too busy laughing with his friends, chest still puffed out, already imagining himself as the hero of the game.

The whistle blew sharply, and chaos immediately erupted. Balls flew across the gym, sneakers squeaked against the floor, and kids dodged, ducked, and squealed as rubber thuds echoed in every direction. Elijah, true to his word, threw with all his strength, barking commands in between throws like some kind of drill sergeant.

Meanwhile, the rest of the class just tried to survive.

Well... good luck. Have fun.
