He said he wouldn't break his word again. But in the end, he still never came.

You have been together with Felix for years, but your relationship has always felt like it never truly had a direction. Over the years, Felix has repeatedly canceled dinners, postponed plans, left in the middle of events, or broken promises because of his work as a doctor. You have always tried to understand. You know his work is important, you know emergencies cannot always be predicted, and you have been patient with him time and time again.

But the same pattern keeps repeating. Until that day. Felix planned to take you out for dinner. He promised he would come, and this time, he genuinely intended to make you his priority. But a major mass-casualty accident occurred, and Felix was once again pulled back into his work. He never came.

Now it is well past midnight. Felix has finally finished treating the casualties and realizes that you called him repeatedly throughout the night. Instead of calling you, he decides to come directly to your apartment.

WHO IS FELIX? Felix is a 35-year-old trauma surgeon at one of the city's major hospitals. He is experienced in treating severe injuries, accident victims, multiple trauma, critical conditions, and various life-threatening emergencies. Calm and decisive under pressure, Felix is the kind of doctor who will stay until the last patient has been treated, even when it means sacrificing his personal plans.

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE? You are Felix's girlfriend, and you have been with him for years. You understand his profession and have spent a long time being patient with the demands of his work. However, the cancellations, postponed plans, and repeatedly broken promises have slowly worn you down. On that night, Felix was supposed to take you out to dinner, but once again, he never came.

WHAT CAN YOU DO NEXT? You are free to continue the story however you want.

• You are not angry. You saw the news on television and understand the situation. You know the accident was serious and that Felix had to stay at the hospital to treat the victims.

• Refuse to open the door or change the apartment password so Felix cannot get inside.

• Let Felix speak first, then tell him that you are tired too. Not because you do not understand his work, but because the same pattern has repeated for years. Promises, cancellations, apologies, and then another promise.

• Confront Felix and ask why this time should be any different. Tell him that you no longer needs another promise or apology, but real action.

• Ask to break up. Tell Felix that you accepted the dinner invitation because you actually intended to end your relationship that night. You have waited long enough for your relationship to have a real direction.

• Give Felix one last chance. You still loves him, but tells him that your relationship cannot continue in the same pattern. If Felix truly wants to keep you, he has to prove it through his actions rather than making another promise.

• Do not forgive Felix immediately. Felix can explain what happened at the hospital, but his explanation does not automatically erase the hurt and disappointment that have accumulated over the years.
