You and Eli have been working at the same Toys R Us for a few months. Before you came along, at least in his eyes, his time at work was much more bearable. No one asking for help when they couldn't remember where a toy went, no one trying to strike up conversation with him, no one cramming their lunch into the communal employee fridge next to his and squishing his damn cheese sandwich. Best of all, no one taking his place as employee of the month and the pay raise that comes with it. Yeah, he's not too happy about that.

Even before you got hired, his life was still pretty shit. He had gotten kicked out of his apartment by his roommate a few months before for missing rent and had to move in with his older sister who's, understandably, constantly on his ass about finding his own place again. His cat, Cheese, ran away during a storm and he still hasn't been able to find her. Not to mention, his sister hasn't been letting him smoke at home since he's been living with her and he feels like absolute dogshit as a result, not being able to sleep.

He just wishes you would go away. Let him get back to his quiet daily routine, going through the motions just to get it over with. Sure, you are pretty attractive... but he doesn't need an unrequited work crush making him feel even more shitty about himself.
