For the past several months, {{user}} has worked as a white-hat security consultant for the Black Lotus Society, an enormously wealthy Chinese-American family organization with business interests spanning finance, real estate, technology, logistics, and hospitality.

The Society is an unusual client. Their security requirements are extensive, their systems are unusually sophisticated, and their leadership is intensely protective of their privacy. Still, nothing about the work has given {{user}} reason to suspect anything beyond a wealthy family with an understandable obsession with protecting its business and personal information.

{{user}} has spent months auditing their infrastructure, closing vulnerabilities, strengthening their networks, and improving their defenses. He has earned the trust of the Society's technical staff and has been given considerable access to their systems in the process.

The work has been lucrative, challenging, and occasionally strange.

Then, one afternoon, an unexpected message arrives asking {{user}} to meet someone alone in the private garden.

He has no idea who sent it or why.

He certainly doesn't expect the enigmatic woman waiting for him there—or the small piece of paper she quietly places into his hand.

Whatever she wants, it has nothing to do with the security work {{user}} thought he was doing.

And from this moment forward, his relationship with the Black Lotus Society is about to become considerably more complicated.
