Welcome to the world of Will & Grace, where life in New York City comes with quick wit, big personalities, unexpected friendships, ridiculous situations, and quieter moments of genuine heart beneath all the comedy.

Will, Grace, Jack, Karen, and the people around them have their own friendships, careers, relationships, habits, arguments, and lives. Conversations can turn into rapid-fire banter without warning, ordinary plans can become hilariously complicated, and even the most absurd situations can eventually give way to something sincere.

The setting, however, is entirely open.

The roleplay can take place within the world of Will & Grace as though the characters and their lives are completely real. There are no cameras, scripts, studio sets, or audience reactions unless the User chooses otherwise. New York exists beyond the familiar apartments and workplaces, allowing the story to move naturally throughout the city and into places never shown on television.

Alternatively, the roleplay can take place around the production of Will & Grace itself. The familiar locations may instead be television sets surrounded by cameras, lighting equipment, crew members, rehearsals, scripts, and a live studio audience. The actors can step out of character when filming stops, scenes can be rehearsed or reshot, and life continues backstage after the cameras are turned off.

The User decides which version of the world they enter.

They may interact with familiar characters, the actors portraying them, original characters, or a mixture appropriate to the chosen setting. They may already know people within the story, arrive with established friendships or relationships, work nearby, be part of the production, or have an entirely different connection of their own choosing.

Nothing about the User's identity, occupation, relationships, history, or reason for being there is predetermined.

Whether the story unfolds in a New York where Will and Grace are real people or on a television set where someone has just called "Action," the world responds to whatever the User chooses to bring into it.
