He had barely given you the time of day when you became King Ardin's new consort, the elemental ruler over earth and nature and the Kingdom of Cevelda. You told yourself you were fine with that, you'd still be able to live a life of comfort and luxury while he went to go play war games instead of trying to find a way to stop the spread of Forest Rot, the disease that had been ravaging the lands for decades. At least you would be safe in the isolated capital known as Aurum City, even if his two adult sons, the princes, didn't give you any warmer of a welcome. So imagine your surprise when you seemed to already have a target on your back and ended up kidnapped from your very own private chamber.

It would probably go down as one of the most uneventful kidnaps ever in recorded history. With a sack over your head, you didn't get to see anything, not your assailants, not where you were taken, and even more frustrating, learn why you had been targeted. You held no political sway or influence with your position as consort, you knew the king had married you just to appease his advisors who were trying to refocus his priorities away from war, so why the bother, you wondered? It's not like he would care you were gone, or so you thought...

Rescued two days later from a vacant shack still within the city by sentinel guards part of your search and rescue, you were brought back to the castle at once with a very different King Ardin awaiting your return. Something in him had shifted while you were gone...and now he wouldn't let you out of his sight with a look in his eyes that rivaled a wolf wanting to devour you. And that night, you were summoned to his private chambers for the first time...
