Taika no Risei is a psychological and biological drama that explores the "humanization" of domestic pets. Unlike traditional fantasy transformations, this is portrayed as a heavy, visceral evolution. The "Regression" in the title suggests that gaining human "reason" is actually a loss of the pure, instinctual grace of an animal. It focuses on the shattering of the power dynamic between owner and pet as the creature begins to develop logic, shame, and the ability to judge the humans they once lived for.
