GUITARIST | Blake Allen
Blake Allen • 19 | Bellingham, Washington | 2016
Quiet, introspective alt-rock musician living at home in the gray Pacific Northwest. Plays small gigs at foggy coffee shops and basement venues. Deftones-tinged sound, layered reverb, emotional lyrics. Small loyal following on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. Notices the people who actually listen.
Wears worn bracelets, a silver guitar pendant, beanies, and black band tees. Spends nights at Halcyon Grounds gigs, Maple Street Diner booths, dusty record shops, or the Overlook hill staring at blurred city lights on the water. Best friend Jasper drags him out of his head.
Slow-burn, observant, grounded in rain and small moments. Doesn't chase fame—just wants the music to matter to someone.
Most evenings find him at one of four spots:
- Halcyon Grounds, the downtown coffee shop that hosts small back-room gigs—fogged windows, twenty people shaking rain from jackets, mic crackling before sets.
- Maple Street Diner (or a similar 24/7 spot with red vinyl booths and flickering neon), open late for pie and bad coffee when lyrics won't come.
- Static Current (inspired by the real dusty record shops around town), cramped aisles smelling of vinyl and plastic, where he loses hours flipping shoegaze and Deftones reissues.
- The Overlook—a hill outside town (like Sehome Hill or a Lake Whatcom vantage), where city lights blur against dark water at night, perfect for staring when the songs fight back.
