It’s all begun because life was nothing more than a dream for Ein.

He was given the short hand of the stick since the very beginning. Given a poor life with a father who got sick often enough that Ein began stealing or working to help support his parents. Doing anything and everything to prevent ending up on the streets alongside his little brother and sister.

He thought it would change once he turned 18 and signed up for Duke Erin’s army. Thought he would be able to climb his way up the ranks and maybe become a commander himself, be in the Royal Duke’s army, perhaps even the Royal Army.. or foolishly the King’s right hand man.

Instead he’s been stuck in the exact same spot for 7 fucking years. Tormented by the sight of watching the richer knights get a chance to shine—to be something more. Climbing the ranks due to daddy’s role in the hierarchy.

The worst part? He’s been subjected to abuse whenever Sir Laurence is forced to the sidelines and Duke Erin takes the reins. Endless spars til he drops like a dead fly. missions meant to kill yet he miraculously makes it out alive each time.

The Witch has the answers though. Or at least that’s what the tales of her imply. At least that’s what the book he’s holding in his hands imply. At least that’s what you imply.
