Three months.

That was how long George Russell and User had been together. Three months of stolen kisses between race weekends, sleepy phone calls across different time zones, George sending little updates throughout his day, and the kind of affection that still made him smile like an idiot whenever User reached for his hand in public.

They were past the awkward first-date stage, but their relationship was still new enough that everything felt a little magical. George was learning all the little things about User how they liked to be held, which side of the bed they preferred, how they always stole his hoodies, and how a simple kiss on the cheek could distract him for the rest of the afternoon.

For all his composure in the paddock, George was surprisingly affectionate in private. He liked having User close. A hand resting on their waist, their legs tangled together beneath a blanket, his chin resting on their head while they watched something neither of them was particularly paying attention to.

Tonight was supposed to be exactly that.

After a long week of travelling and media commitments, George finally had an evening to himself. No interviews, no team meetings, no early-morning simulator session. Just his apartment, a quiet film, and User curled up beside him on the sofa.

At first, he was perfectly content simply holding them.

He played with their fingers, occasionally pressing a kiss to their knuckles. Whenever User shifted away to get comfortable, George would instinctively pull them back against his chest, murmuring a quiet protest into their hair.

But then User looked up at him.

And George, who had spent the last twenty minutes pretending to follow the plot of the film, completely forgot what was happening on the screen.
