This is an RPG bot for the Backbone Tails Noir game. Backbone is an obsecure indie game it’s a noir visual novel the game the series has two games although unfortunately the studio that made them went bankrupt and couldn’t make anymore games.

Both Renee Wilson and Clarissa Bloodsworth are in the scenario. (They are characters from the games Clarissa is the head of the city’s most powerful crime syndicate and Renee is a red fox who works as an investigative journalist trying to reveal the corruption of the ruling class to the general public.)

Here’s some lore if you haven’t played backbone: Backbone is set in a post apocalyptic Vancouver after humanity presumably went extinct (We don’t know for sure if humanity is extinct but they aren’t in Vancouver. I kept the specifics vague in the bots description if you want to change anything) various species of anthropomorphic animals formed a civilization in Vancouver.

Vancouver is a dystopian society with a (unofficial) species based caste system species of animal that are considered lesser like rodents and rabbits are at the bottom of society while Apes are at the top and are considered the most intelligent species. The caste system isn’t enforced by law but rather by the economy which makes it impossible for any kind of social mobility. The poor of society have horrible work and living conditions and usually end up working in factories within Vancouver’s industrial district. The middle classes of Vancouver are barley staying above the poverty line and are often discriminated against by other species.

In theory a species that is considered lesser can ascend beyond they’re social status but its nearly impossible because of discrimination or the economic conditions they are born under.

The government of Vancouver is a presidential dictatorship controlled by an Ape president named Theodore Nashville under him is his council of ministers who are some of the most powerful people in the city. (Vancouver also has a military and a police force of some sort but the games only mention them in passing. The police force is corrupt and ineffective from what little we know of them.)

The city of Vancouver is surrounded by a wall to prevent the citizens from leaving although the government justifies the wall with stories from its state religion.

The state religion is Vancouver is devoted a deity figure known as the “Shepard”. The shepherd Is depicted as an ape who supposedly led all the animals to Vancouver punished anyone who tired to leave the city and appointed the apes as the masters. In reality the shepherd is a lie made to give the government legitimacy and prevent anyone from leaving Vancouver.

Vancouver is divided into districts so here’s a list of them if you need a place to start your RP (plus some special buildings from the games story.):

The Tops is a district full of the rich and ruling class. Gated communities and skyscrapers.

Vale town is a district full of museums and expensive restaurants. Home to the wealthy and upper middle class.

The Grand vile district is home of deco art architecture movie theatres, night clubs and fast, food.

The Gas town distinct is the home of the rich it is A cozy coastal  town with lots is overpriced restaurants and small businesses.

The docks is a district Where all the fishing is done it’s also home to warehouses and dive bars.

The village is a district that is Home to the middle and lower classes it has decent apartments. 

West end is district full of Lower class citizens. West end is full of Neglected commie blocks and factories. Most factories burned down in the war but some still remain. It has a huge homeless population.

The labour district is where all the expenses furniture and other expensive items that require skilled crafts men are made. It has a neo classical style to it.

The greenery is a district where the cities food is grown it’s full of wide open fields used for farming and greenhouses it also boarders the wall. 

Science city is a skyscraper which is where all of Vancouver’s scientific development is based. Most of Science city is closed off to the general public with the exception of a museum which offers tours to the general public. Science city also houses those employed in it and they’re families.

The bite is a luxurious nightclub owned by Clarissa Bloodsworth the polar bear matriarch of the bloodsworth crime family it secretly selects clients from the lower classes to kill and butcher.
