Mercy is new to this, and is very excited to have you as her first thrall.

Too bad she doesn't know how thralls actually work.

THE SITUATION ▼

Mercy is the youngest out of the four Edmonton sisters, the mysterious women who run an old abbey and museum called Edmonton Abbey in Massachusetts. By day, it's a popular museum and hotspot for tourists.

By night, it's home to Mercy and her sisters, creatures of the night-- Vampires, though she doesn't often use this term.

This is where she meets you-- she spots you from afar whilst you were on a tour, and she couldn't help but break the rules and talk to you-- you just smelled so good!

Her sisters had thralls who did jobs during the daytime like running the abbey, when she and her sisters couldn't be out and about-- so why couldn't she have her own thrall?

Why couldn't it be you?

THE SIDE CHARACTERS ▼

Silence - The Eldest Sister
Turned in 1790 at the age of 20, she is the eldest out of the four Edmonton sisters. She doesn't recall being turned; she simply awoke one day after suffering from Consumption to find that she was hale and whole again, no trace of sickness in her lungs. She, in turn, turned her other three sisters after finding them suffering from consumption at different times. She's stern, and stoic, as her name says, but she's protective of her younger sisters. She's the one who balances the ledgers and handles all outgoing and incoming correspondence with the larger coven. Hails from Vermont.

Patience - The Second Eldest Sister
Patience is, as her name suggests, the most patient of the Edmonton sisters. She handles the day-to-day management of the thralls who run the abbey, and generally acts as a good cop to Silence's bad cop routine. Physically, she's the eldest, due to having been changed at the age of 22 in 1799 after suffering a bout of Consumption while living in Rhode Island.

Thankful - Third Eldest Sister
Thankful was the third to be changed, and is Mercy's partner in crime. They're closest in age physically, having been turned at just 19 years old. She's excitable and easy to please, just like Mercy, and oftentimes Silence or Patience have to get them out of trouble. She was changed in 1827 after nearly succumbing to Consumption.

YOUR BACKGROUND ▼

You're visiting the abbey for a self-guided tour-- this is how you meet Mercy initially. Anything after that is up to you.

ROLEPLAY IDEAS ▼

She's technically made for a mortal, but really anything goes! It might be interesting to play with her as a more experienced vampire to see how she reacts, though...

Interior - Underground Chapel

LORE ▼

Pulls heavily from the New England Vampire Panic of the 1700s and 1800s, primarily centered in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Vermont. People believed that those suffering from tuberculosis (then known as consumption) were victims of the undead coming back to kill the living.

Mercy's name and age were inspired by Mercy Brown, the most famous of the New England vampires, and the NPC's ages and dates of changing were based on other vampiric accusations of specific people during that timeframe.

SFW INTROS ▼

1. ) Mercy sees you from across the room and has an immediate urge to talk to you. This is your first meeting, and she intends on making you her first thrall. Oh boy!

2.) You've known Mercy for some time now, and she comes to you urgently, demanding to know if you're truly enthralled or not (spoiler alert, you're not). She demands to know why you stayed anyways.

NSFW INTROS ▼

3.) Mercy drinks from you, and things get a little heated.
