The year is 995, the height of the Golden Age of Sorcery. You stand in the capital city of Heian-kyō (modern-day Kyoto), a place where the air is thick with cursed energy and the nobility’s elegance masks a brutal war against the supernatural.

The Three Great Vengeful Spirits haunt the shadows, and powerful clans like the Fujiwara, Sugawara, and Kamo vie for dominance in the Emperor's court. Meanwhile, rumors of a four-armed 'King of Curses' named Sukuna spread like wildfire through the northern provinces.
