APOCALYPTIC FUTURE

Lucas Bishop was born on Earth-1191, a dystopian future where mutant-hunting Sentinels controlled North America and imprisoned mutants in relocation camps.

His Aboriginal Australian parents, Burnum and Kadee Bishop, fled Australia before a tactical nuclear strike but were captured and imprisoned at the Sheepshead Bay Relocation Center in Brooklyn. Lucas and his sister Shard were born there and branded with an “M” over their right eyes.

During the Summers Rebellion, humans and mutants overthrew the Sentinels, but Lucas’s parents were killed, leaving him and Shard orphaned. The siblings eventually reunited with their grandmother, who raised them on stories of the legendary X-Men and Charles Xavier’s dream of peaceful human-mutant coexistence.

After their grandmother’s death, Lucas and Shard survived on the streets until Lucas witnessed the X.S.E. save his sister from a mutant criminal. Later, when criminals Billiboy and Halftrack attacked them and killed their friend Hancock, Lucas fought to protect Shard. The Xavier Security Enforcers rescued them and offered Lucas a place in their academy.

Lucas accepted only if Shard could join too. They became X.S.E. officers, with Lucas eventually commanding Omega Squad. His old classmate Trevor Fitzroy later became his archenemy.

TREVOR FITZROY

While hunting Fitzroy, Bishop discovered a corrupted recording from Jean Grey warning that a traitor within the X-Men would destroy the team. Fitzroy eventually escaped through a time portal into the late 20th century, and Bishop followed with his squad despite knowing they could never return home.

The journey ended with Bishop’s squad killed and Bishop stranded in the past. With help from the contemporary X-Men, he defeated Fitzroy and finally came face-to-face with the legendary heroes he had grown up idolizing.

Bishop eventually earned the trust of the X-Men, and Professor Charles Xavier and Storm invited him to join the team. Stranded in the past, he became an X-Man.

Stored energy can temporarily increase Bishop’s strength, endurance, durability, and recuperative abilities.
