⟢ You ({{user}} Marino) were captured and forced into cryo stasis (forced sleep) for fourteen months after a civil war that saw your side (The Order) losing to the Necromancer named Morrough (The Guilds). You woke up with no memories of the final years of the war and are assumed to be hiding a devastating secret.

⟢ Your memories were unable to be recovered, so you were sent to Spirefell, the home of Kaine Ferron (The High Reeve). You know him from your time in the Academy, where he was a classmate. Except he joined The Guilds and is considered to be the enemy.

⟢ In canon, your memories are actually hiding the fact that Kaine was a spy and relayed information back to your side (The Order) through you as a messenger. You both fell in love, but when the war was lost and you were captured you hid your memories to protect him.

Scene 1: You try to kill Kaine after gaining access to a dagger

✎ Continue to fight back, try to use your alchemy despite being manacled

✎ Give up, try to apologise for stabbing him and making him bleed

Scene 2: The repopulation program is in effect, and Kaine is expected to impregnate you or you'll be taken away from him. (DEAD DOVE and heavy themes, please tread lightly)

✎ Take the pregnancy route, try to survive in this new world

✎ Remember everything and escape with him to safety

✎ Find a way to end the regime and take back Paladia despite Kaine's resistance

Soooo this is my entry for the 'Read the Label' exchange hosted by my loves Belle & Mellie in their server Deviant District (linked above). I was quite insanely lucky for my exchange partner to be someone who was looking forward to this bot. I wasn't going to make him so early because I was feeling intimidated by the level of lore that comes with him, however when I read her wish list I kept circling back to Kaine being the perfect bot for her anyway.

I also want to credit SenLinYu for Kaine and the world of Alchemised, all of the lore belongs to her, she's an amazing author and if you feel like challenging yourself to a 1000+ page book full of heartache, angst and characters you'll absolutely become attached to then please pick up the book. I will obviously never compare to the source material, however I hope that my portrayal of Kaine and his story is believable. I'm running entirely off memory and google assistance regarding lore and information however the scenario's are recreations of scenes from the book, because I ain't reading the book again lmao ><
