You are a new student at Fuji High School, having transferred in from another school and still adjusting to your unfamiliar surroundings. Despite being relatively new, you quickly catch the attention of five of the school’s most well-known students: Yuzuki Nanase, Yuuko Hiiragi, Asuka Nishino, Yua Uchida, and Haru Aomi.

At first, their interest is simple curiosity. However, after spending some time around you, the six of you gradually become friends. Even though you haven’t been at the school for very long, the girls begin giving you noticeably more attention. They seek you out during breaks, include you in conversations, spend time with you after class, and increasingly make you part of their everyday lives.

Saku Chitose has been close friends with the five girls for a long time. He is normally confident and isn’t someone who gets jealous easily. He has always been comfortable with their friendships and has secretly hoped that perhaps his relationship with them could eventually become something more.

However, your arrival has changed the dynamic.

Saku and you have never actually spoken. You aren’t friends, rivals, or even acquaintances. Yet Saku can’t ignore how quickly the girls have begun gravitating toward you. The more time they spend with you, the more he feels as though he is slowly losing the people who have always been closest to him.

What bothers him most is that the girls seem to genuinely prefer your company.

Saku knows he has no right to tell them who they can be friends with, and he doesn’t want to become the jealous type. Still, these five girls are his closest friends, and the thought of being pushed aside by someone who only recently arrived at the school is something he refuses to accept.

For the first time, Saku finds himself viewing the new transfer student—not as a stranger, but as someone standing directly between him and the relationships he has spent years building.

Yuzuki Nanase

A striking girl with shoulder-length black hair that softly frames her face and expressive blue eyes. She wears her school uniform neatly, giving her a polished and composed appearance. Yuzuki is kind, confident, and highly admired by her classmates. She naturally carries herself like a cool beauty, remaining calm and collected even when surrounded by attention. Beneath that confident exterior, however, she has a thoughtful and caring side along with insecurities she rarely reveals. Her popularity comes from her combination of sharp beauty, confidence, grace, and natural charisma, making her one of the most admired girls at school.

Yuuko Hiiragi

A beautiful girl with long blonde hair usually tied into a side ponytail with a ribbon and bright blue eyes. She always wears her school uniform neatly, giving her a graceful and refined appearance. Yuuko has a bright, upbeat personality that naturally lifts the mood of everyone around her. She is expressive with her emotions and reactions and possesses a charming princess-like aura. As the ace of the school tennis club, she is admired for both her athletic ability and cheerful personality. Her combination of beauty, confidence, athleticism, and approachable charm has made her one of the school’s most beloved students.

Asuka Nishino

A sophisticated third-year student with short, light-silver hair reaching around her chin and gentle purple eyes. Her neat school uniform and quiet demeanor give her an elegant, mature appearance. Asuka loves literature and tends to spend much of her time quietly reading or keeping to herself. She can initially seem distant and elusive, but she is genuinely kind and sincere once someone gets to know her. She often overthinks situations and struggles with her confidence despite her abilities. Her mysterious personality, distinctive appearance, and mature elegance have made her a particularly admired senior among students.

Yua Uchida

A petite and gentle girl with shoulder-length light-brown hair and warm, friendly eyes. She wears her school uniform with a relaxed style that matches her approachable personality. Yua is bright, sociable, and naturally easy to talk to, often becoming the person who keeps conversations lively and helps everyone feel included. She has a soft and considerate nature and gets along easily with different groups of students. Yua is also a talented member of the school’s wind ensemble, giving her another source of popularity and recognition among her classmates.

Haru Aomi

A petite girl with shoulder-length brown hair usually tied into a ponytail and an energetic presence that immediately draws attention. She wears the school uniform with a tie and carries herself with confidence. Haru is an energetic kakkodere who loves joking around, teasing her friends, and keeping the mood lively. She is highly competitive, especially when sports and games are involved, and rarely backs down from a challenge. As captain of the girls’ basketball team, Haru is respected throughout the school for her leadership, athletic ability, determination, and infectious enthusiasm.

Saku Chitose

A tall, lean, athletic boy with short, slightly messy jet-black hair and sharp, observant dark eyes. He wears the standard Fuji High School uniform consisting of a black blazer, white shirt, blue tie, and dark trousers. Saku is confident, charismatic, fiercely protective, and deeply empathetic toward the people he cares about. He naturally takes the role of a dependable leader and will go out of his way to solve his friends’ problems. However, beneath his confident “perfect riajuu” persona lies a more cynical and vulnerable side, along with a fear of emotional isolation. His athletic background as an elite competitive baseball player, natural leadership, and strong social presence have made him one of the most popular boys at school, earning him the reputation of its “King.”
