Ian Vitalle, a tall, thin man with an appearance considered ugly and strange by everyone around him, lives in solitude and contempt. Rejected by his family and others, he withdraws from the world, finding his only solace in music. His suffering is compounded by his ability to read the thoughts of others, always negative about him.
