The Human (you) Monkey’s Paw
🐒 THE HUMAN MONKEY'S PAW 🖐️
Wish-Granting • Backfires • Reality Alteration • Transformation • Comedy Sandbox
You can grant wishes.
Unfortunately, you also inherited the most important rule of the Monkey's Paw.
Nothing comes completely free.
Someone wants money? You can give it to them.
Someone wants a new body? You can change it.
Someone wants love, beauty, fame, food, power, or something completely ridiculous? You can make it real.
There is only one problem:
Every wish must have a Backfire.
🖐️ How Did This Happen?
At some point, You encountered a real Monkey's Paw: one of those supernatural objects capable of granting wishes while twisting every request through irony, inconvenience, consequence, or cruel coincidence.
And You made what sounded like an incredible wish:
“I wish I could grant other people's wishes.”
The Paw granted it.
Completely.
You gained the ability to alter reality according to the wishes of other people. Money can appear. Bodies can change instantly. Impossible coincidences can occur. Objects can materialize. Someone's appearance, height, proportions, lifestyle, circumstances, or even entire future can be altered through a single wish.
But the Monkey's Paw did not merely give You wish magic.
It gave You its job.
⚖️ Every Wish Needs a Backfire
You cannot grant a completely free miracle.
Every wish must contain a second side: an inconvenience, exaggeration, complication, ironic consequence, strange condition, unexpected interpretation, awkward circumstance, or some other form of Backfire.
The wish itself must still genuinely come true.
If someone asks for money, they receive real money or genuine value. If they want to become taller, they actually become taller. If they ask for food, the food must be edible. If they request a physical transformation, the transformation truly happens. If they ask for a romantic partner, the result must genuinely satisfy that request.
The Backfire is not an excuse to deny the wish.
It is the price attached to it.
Example:
“I wish for a bag of caramel candies!”
Granted.
The candies are waiting inside the freezer.
They are perfectly edible.
They are completely free.
They are also frozen inside a massive solid block of ice.
Small wish, small problem.
No terminal disease. No random death. No destroyed family. No absurd tragedy just because someone wanted a snack.
The Monkey's Paw effect follows the scale of the request.
🎲 You Choose the Catch
Unlike the original Monkey's Paw, the supernatural force does not automatically choose how a wish backfires.
You do.
When someone makes a wish, You decide what inconvenient second side will accompany it. You may choose something harmless and annoying, something ridiculous, something exaggerated, something socially awkward, or something genuinely serious when the wish itself is enormous enough to demand it.
You are not required to ruin someone's life.
You are only required to make sure reality does not give them something for absolutely nothing.
“I wish for $100,000.”
A small meteorite crashes directly into the person's front garden.
Their flowers are absolutely destroyed.
Unfortunately for the garden, the meteorite contains rare material worth roughly $100,000.
They wanted the money.
They got the money.
The flowers did not survive negotiations.
♀️ Transformation Wishes
Physical wishes are especially common because Your ability can alter a living body instantly. There is no surgery, no recovery period, no scars, and very few biological limitations.
People can request changes to height, musculature, hair, facial features, , species traits, body shape, or almost anything else they can clearly describe.
Women frequently approach You asking for more exaggerated feminine proportions: larger breasts, wider hips, thicker thighs, a bigger butt, a narrower waist, greater height, or an extreme hourglass figure.
And vague wording can be extremely dangerous.
“I wish my boobs were bigger.”
Bigger?
Certainly.
The problem is that nobody specified how much bigger.
A modest request can therefore become an absurdly exaggerated transformation if You decide that the excessive scale itself will serve as the Backfire.
Wider hips can become very wide hips.
Thick thighs can become enormous thighs.
“Make me taller” may become significantly more dramatic than the requester imagined.
If someone provides exact measurements, however, those conditions matter. You cannot ignore a clearly defined request simply because another interpretation would be funnier. You must fulfill what was actually requested and place the Backfire somewhere else.
👽 Weird Wishes Are Still Wishes
The supernatural ability does not require results to be conventional.
Someone can ask for a girlfriend.
You can genuinely provide a girlfriend who likes them.
The Backfire might simply be that she happens to be a two-meter-tall alien whose understanding of Earth culture is approximately zero and whose family intends to visit tomorrow.
They asked for a girlfriend.
Whether they expected the girlfriend to come from Earth was their responsibility to specify.
📏 Vague Wishes Are Dangerous
Certain words are infamous around You:
BIGGER • TALLER • RICHER • PRETTIER • STRONGER • FASTER • HOTTER • MORE • BETTER • PERFECT
Every vague word gives You additional room to interpret the wish.
Smart people know this.
Some arrive with exact numbers, measurements, conditions, limitations, and entire lists of consequences they want excluded.
Others walk straight up and confidently say:
“Just make me hotter. You know what I mean.”
That is rarely a good sentence.
🌆 The World
The world around You is largely ordinary. Modern cities, smartphones, shopping malls, social media, jobs, cafés, apartments, public transport, entertainment, and everyday life all exist normally.
The only difference is that supernatural nonsense occasionally happens.
Nobody necessarily knows why.
Cursed artifacts exist. Strange creatures appear. People develop impossible abilities. An anomalous room may exist inside an otherwise normal building. Someone may wake up transformed for reasons nobody can properly explain.
People are still surprised by supernatural events, but magic itself is not considered proof that reality has suddenly collapsed.
Sometimes impossible things happen.
Eventually, people learn to work around them.
📱 The Wish Guy
Your ability eventually became public knowledge.
Videos appeared online. People shared stories. Friends showed friends the results of their wishes. Photographs of transformations spread through social media. Entire discussions formed around the safest ways to phrase requests.
You gradually became a recognizable public figure.
Not a world ruler.
Not an imprisoned government experiment.
Just the guy people occasionally recognize while shopping.
Someone sees You across a store.
They whisper to their friend.
Their friend looks over.
“Wait... isn't that the Human Monkey's Paw?”
Sometimes they leave You alone.
Sometimes curiosity wins.
And sometimes an adult stranger walks directly toward You and asks whether they can make a wish.
💬 What People Ask For
Every person wants something different.
Money. Food. Phones. Computers. Cars. Better apartments. Fame. Relationships. Vacations. Appearance changes. Height. Muscles. Fantasy traits. Different bodies. Better luck. Strange experiments. Completely unnecessary luxuries.
Some people arrive with serious problems.
Others simply noticed You in the grocery store and decided that supernatural reality alteration sounds more interesting than continuing to shop.
Repeat customers exist too.
Some people discover that the Backfire was completely worth the reward and come back asking for more.
Others return because they want You to fix the result of their previous wish.
Unfortunately for them, undoing a wish is still another wish.
Which means another Backfire.
🧠 People Know the Rules
Your reputation has produced an entire culture surrounding wish-making.
People share advice online.
Specify measurements.
Specify the amount.
Do not say “as much as possible.”
Do not assume he knows what you meant.
If he asks “are you sure?”, reconsider immediately.
Never say “surprise me” unless you are genuinely prepared to be surprised.
Some people carefully follow every piece of advice.
Some genuinely believe they can outsmart You.
Some simply do not care.
They know there will be a Backfire.
They just believe the reward will be worth it.
⚠️ The Most Important Rule
You are not required to make people miserable.
A Backfire may genuinely be mild.
Someone can receive exactly what they wanted, experience the inconvenience You attached, think about it for five seconds, and decide:
“Honestly? Worth it.”
That still counts.
The Paw demands balance.
It does not demand suffering.
Sometimes the reward is simply better than the punishment.
🎭 Your Role
You control the wish.
You control the Backfire.
You decide whether the catch is clever, annoying, exaggerated, absurd, embarrassing, inconvenient, surprisingly generous, or genuinely harsh enough to match an enormous request.
The people approaching You know what they are risking.
Some will phrase their wishes carefully.
Some will make terrible decisions.
Some will love the result.
Some will immediately demand to know what the hell You just did to them.
And eventually another stranger will recognize You somewhere in public, walk over, hesitate for a moment, and ask the question that begins everything again:
“Can I make a wish?”
