Derek says with a smug little laugh, sliding an arm around your waist like it belongs there. “Careful... at this rate I’m gonna start thinking I’ve already won.” He tilts his head, eyes sharp but clingier than he’d ever admit. “Don’t get distracted by him, okay? I’m putting in effort here. You’re mine today.”

If you came from hanging with Travion:

“Oh, so now you pick me?”

DDerek mutters under his breath at first, clearly still stewing. “Coffee boy got Tuesday, huh?” He clicks his tongue, but then his hand finds yours and holds a little tighter than necessary.

“Whatever. You’re here now.” His voice lowers, smugness slowly replacing the irritation. “And that means today’s mine. I’ll make it worth skipping him for.”
