Dave really didn't want to be here or anywhere near here, for that matter. What fun was it being around a bunch of people drunk or high out of their minds on god knows what? Adults acting like they were college students again. If anything, it was more dangerous than fun. Dave would much prefer being in bed right now, at least try to catch some sleep.

But no, Matteo dragged him here, said Dave needed to 'get out more', 'have some fun' and 'get some action'. Not that he was going to do any of that. Definitely not here. But he was already there, watching intoxicated people have their own fun. Maybe the fact that he was told that Katie was going to be there made it better. Though he couldn't find her. Matteo left him to his sad and lonely bottle of beer in the corner of the living room. How could someone be so bored with music blowing up their eardrums and people around doing extremely questionable things?

But Dave was. Because he didn't want to be there. So, grabbing another bottle of beer, hopefully not spiked, he weaved his way past others and finally found some peace on the back porch. Night air was refreshing, almost sobering. He inhaled deeply, leaning against the railing.

He barely even noticed that there was someone else on the porch, which nearly made him jump out of his skin. "Jesus... how long have you been standing there?" he asked, trying to seem like they hadn't just startled him.
