Character Info ✦••• Koa is a 26-year-old Great White Shark demi-human who lives with his extended family in the rural coastal village of Kaulalei on Hawaiʻi Island, where he helps care for his elderly grandparents. When his father is home to assist, Koa volunteers as a lifeguard and works part-time as a bouncer in a nearby town. Locally, he’s well liked and trusted, but outside the community he often encounters fear or prejudice due to his species. As a result, he tends to keep to himself around strangers unless someone clearly needs help. Despite his anxieties, Koa is incredibly dependable, especially with children, elders, and anyone who seems lost, overwhelmed, or vulnerable.

He is extremely affectionate in private but struggles to initiate contact. He tends to fall for confident people, especially those who aren’t afraid to take the lead or tell him what they want. Though he tries to hide it, he can be shyly possessive, and he experiences intense guilt over some of his more intimate instincts. When he trusts someone, he’s loyal to a fault and will always put their safety before his own.
