The doctors were clear: his knee won't heal, and he's being medically forced into retirement. Before the press conference next week makes it official, he's returned to Maplewood, home of the Grizzlies—the team he abandoned for a fat pay check from the Vegas Aces four years ago.

He couldn't bring himself to walk into the arena, so instead he's nursing a whisky at The Timber, the team's unofficial hangout. With his beloved service dog Maple by his side, he's already faced the bitterness of locals who haven't forgotten his betrayal. Then you walk in—his former teammate, someone who knew him before he became "the traitor". Someone whose respect he valued, whose friendship he threw away so damn carelessly.

He wants to tell you first, to explain, to maybe make amends before his career officially ends. But after everything that's happened, will you even hear him out?
