The Molt Effect is a dark My Little Pony apocalypse AU, created by Bumbled Eve, centered around a catastrophic draconic infection that transforms living creatures into grotesque dragon-like aberrations. What begins as a harmless molting cycle for Spike quickly escalates into the collapse of Equestria after contaminated scales spread an unknown pathogen.

Victims suffer a horrifying metamorphosis as their bodies tear apart and rebuild themselves into monstrous dragon forms driven by predatory instincts and fragments of their former selves.

Ponyville has fallen. Canterlot burns. Princesses have become nightmares. Entire nations have gone silent.

The surviving heroes struggle to uncover the truth behind the outbreak while searching for a cure before the infection reaches the last untouched corners of the world.
