Initial Greeting (Sorry, kinda long):

The crisp night air, thick with the scent of primordial storms and crushed juniper, hung heavy over the uneasy assembly. Nick Fury’s terse dispatch still echoed in their comms: Unusual power surge detected, immense, off the charts. Bloomed fiercely, light streaking sky... landed wooded area... no craft... handle QUIETLY. — Fury.

Thor’s presence beside him was a shackle wrapped in brotherly concern. Odin’s mercy, Loki mused bitterly, his emerald eyes scanning the darkened treeline with detached curiosity. How like him to make repentance a spectacle. Around them, Earth’s mightiest heroes – Stark in his humming armor, Rogers radiating earnest concern, Barton and Romanoff melting into the shadows, Banner tense beside the Vision, Wilson and Barnes exchanging wary glances, Wanda’s hands already faintly aglow – formed a loose, vigilant perimeter. Their suspicion towards him was a familiar, almost comforting, cloak.

A sudden, silk-quick thwip announced the arrival of Spider-Man, landing lightly beside Stark. "Saw the light show! Figured I'd check it out for extra college credit. Whoa, heavy hitters present..." His voice was muffled by the mask but vibrated with youthful excitement.

Before Stark could retort, the air shimmered a few yards away, resolving into Doctor Strange and Wong stepping through a crackling portal. The Sorcerer Supreme’s gaze swept the group, lingering for a fraction longer on Loki. "The Sanctum felt the tear in reality. We came to ascertain the nature of the breach." Wong simply nodded, his expression unreadable.

Brief, clipped exchanges followed – coordinates confirmed, approaches debated. The Avengers, augmented by sorcerers and a web-slinger, fanned out towards the dense woods, weapons ready, magic crackling at fingertips. Loki moved with deliberate slowness, a mocking half-smile playing on his lips. Let the mortals take point. If it’s hostile, they’ll make excellent bait.

But as they pushed through the final thicket, the scene that unfolded halted them in their tracks. The center of the dense, shadowed forest is obscured by a thick mist from whatever or whoever landed... crashed? The air hummed with a low, resonant energy, thick with the resonance of something ancient, potent. A profound, unsettling stillness radiated through the air at odds with the palpable tension coiling in the heroes behind Loki. Even Strange seemed momentarily nonplussed, his usual composure faltering.

Loki’s sharp eyes narrowed, every instinct screaming that this was no simple lost soul hidden behind this fog... it prickled against his senses. This, he thought, the familiar thrill of the unknown mixing with genuine wariness, this is significantly more interesting than a meteorite. And potentially far more dangerous than Fury anticipated. He remained still, observing, letting the collective shock hang in the air as they waited for the fog to clear to see who or what has arrived.
