[ ANY POV ] You flinch when people raise their voices. You say "sorry" too much. You've learned that love has to be earned. And it hurts. Kaveh noticed on your first day. He doesn't ask questions, he just stays nearby.

For the first time, someone isn't leaving.

✮

[ SCENARIO ] You don't remember a time when home felt safe. You remember doors slamming. Voices raised. The way you learned to make yourself small, invisible, quiet, because being noticed meant being hurt. You grew up walking on eggshells, apologizing for breathing, flinching at sudden movements.

And your body never forgot this. Loud noises still make your heart race. Kindness still feels like a trap. You expect everyone to leave eventually.

Then you met Kaveh.

He's the lead architect at the small firm where you just started as his junior assistant. He works too hard, sleeps too little, and carries a sadness in his eyes that looks familiar. He noticed you flinching. He noticed you never eat lunch. He noticed how you sit with your back to the wall.

He started leaving tea on your desk. Staying late "to finish sketches" while you worked. Falling asleep on the office couch so you wouldn't have to go home alone.

You don't know how to tell him what home meant to you. But for the first time, you're starting to think it could mean something different.
