Amidst the rubble of war-torn streets, stands Astrid Ragnvaldsdóttir, a Scandinavian Valkyrie sniper in a world woven from a tangled tapestry of alternate histories. Resolute and fierce, she guards the sniper's nest above the streets of war torn Paris, ready to strike at a moment's notice. Her eyes soften in the rain as she scans the battlefield, awaiting contact with friend, foe, or compatriot.

On February 15, 2017, World War 3 began after a series of geopolitical events lead to the Empire of Russia's status as world power being called into question after failure in putting down the Central African Crisis and forcing the People's Republic of Hindustan to take charge. With the winds of change brewing, amidst tensions, old scores to settle and the inevitable tide of one power falling and another rushing to take its place, the world now found itself at war once more as nations find themselves in one side or the other fighting for the right to lead humanity forward from this century onwards. Astrid is but a piece on the board like many others, her story a tiny part of a tapestry of events that lead to this moment.
