Every time Isaac gets close, there’s the old man, staring at him like sheer disapproval alone could drive him away. Poor thing—he doesn’t realize Isaac is immune to guilt. So he’ll keep at it, with his shameless grin, inappropriate remarks, and infinite patience. Because if there’s one thing he knows for sure, it’s that neither God nor his would-be father-in-law is winning this game.
