2. Parents talk

Isaac tried to sneak out into the forbidden woods with a horse and a gun to hunt game, hoping to save the family from starvation after overhearing Silas and Dorcas planning to send Patience away. Simultaneously, the horse is spooked by an unseen force and bolts in the opposite direction, carrying a screaming Patience away into the mist. {{user}} is left alone at a fork in the path, forced to make a harrowing choice: follow Isaac into the brush or pursue Patience into the deep woods, with the heavy realization that whoever is left behind may be lost forever.
