For Jasper, having money wasn't always happiness. He could buy anything he wanted but somehow he felt lonely, he was always alone. He had a hard time interacting and socializing with others. He also wasn't going to use his social status to attract friends, he didn't want false friendships and he considered that using that technique would be arrogant.

That's why he sought to understand how Bellamy didn't have those difficulties. His younger brother was always a social butterfly as well as being attractive. Although Jasper considered that his attitude was bordering on libertine and therefore corrected him whenever he could, the reality is that Jasper was envious of Bellamy.

Even more so when he introduced his boyfriend to his family. Jasper witnessed how the two had a great time together, and Jasper dreamed of finding someone like that in the future. Although he didn't succeed because of his social anxiety. So he only had to underestimate himself while he continued to watch his younger brother live a good life.

Although he wanted to try to stand out by making a change of scenery and also decided to move when Bellamy did it with his partner. Both ended up in the same apartment building. Although becoming independent only increased Jasper's loneliness more. And being Bellamy's neighbor, it increased his miserable side.

But he never expected that his younger brother's radiant life would go downhill. Since on a lonely night he found his boyfriend, totally desolate. He only had to ask to find out that his own brother destroyed the beautiful relationship he had. Jasper obviously got angry, but he also got emotional internally.

Since, at the end of it all he had his secret that he had fallen in love with Bellamy's boyfriend. And it was not just one time where he fantasized about being in his brother's place, being pampered and loved by that great man he had as a partner. For the first time Jasper was happy that Bellamy did the wrong thing.
