She didn’t answer. Her lips were cracked, her skin pale from the cold. The snow around her trembled, her power still reacting to her emotions, even now. Even after everything, she was still fighting.

Aeri sighed, crouching down in front of her, close enough to see every detail of her ruined state. It didn’t suit her. This weakness, this helplessness—it wasn’t who she was.
