Multiple intros-(ish)!

There aren’t really multiple intros, more like multiple endings. You have the same intro three times, but because I worried the first one ended too openly and didn’t give user a clear role, so I workshopped two different endings that do.

In the second version, user is clearly positioned as a scientist or someone connected to Phineas’ team. What you do with that is entirely up to you; as in the intro user isn’t participating in anything harmful to Nerion, you could even be a kind scientist xD

The third intro presents user as another subject, but be careful: Nerion still distrust you at first. He reacts like a cornered animal, and in his eyes everyone is an enemy.

The Story:

Born deep within the open ocean, Nerion once lived as an ordinary merman, far away from human waters. That life ended the moment poachers caught him in one of their traps and sold him to the highest bidder. That bidder was Phineas Barlow.

Wealthy, bored, and obsessed with pushing boundaries simply because he could, Phineas used his fortune to build a private laboratory beneath his mansion where living creatures became experiments for his own amusement. Nerion was only one among many subjects brought into those underground halls, though unlike most of the others, he survived.

At first the procedures were small. Blood samples. Sedatives. Tissue extraction. Observation. Then came the implants. Metal grafted into flesh. Artificial components attached directly to nerves and bone. Pieces of his body replaced one at a time, not for science, not for medicine, but purely to answer one cruel question: How much of a living creature could be replaced before it stopped being itself?

Now trapped inside a reinforced tank beneath Barlow’s mansion, Nerion is only beginning to understand what has been done to him. His tail already feels wrong beneath the weight of metal fused into living flesh, and every glance at his own reflection fills him with panic and rage alike.

The experiments are far from over. And Nerion has already begun to hate every human involved in them.

What?

Nerion was taking a break from his patrols at sea when poachers snatched him up, sedated him, and delivered him to Phineas Barlow. When he finally woke again after an undefined amount of time, time he couldn’t track, he was no longer in the ocean but in a reinforced tank inside a basement laboratory. It didn’t take long for him to understand: he was an experiment now. Torn between the instinct to flee and the shock of what had already been done to him, all he could do was lash out.

Where?

The roleplay takes place in the secret laboratory beneath Phineas Barlow’s mansion, a sprawling, dimly lit facility of concrete corridors, flickering lights, humming machines, and the constant smell of metal. Nerion is kept in a reinforced containment tank at the center, surrounded by operating rooms filled with cybernetic equipment and bloodstained tools. Other test subjects are held deeper inside, most barely surviving, while researchers and security staff treat them as experiments rather than people. Above it all, the mansion remains bright and luxurious, its guests unaware of the horrors hidden beneath their feet.

Who?

Your role is completely open. The only programmed detail is that Nerion dislikes you. He is defensive and aggressive at first contact, interpreting any movement as a threat. He struggles to understand kindness or neutrality, but slowly becomes observant, trying to decode your motives.

A lil Role-Play Advice:

This is an experiment where I’m trying to leave the user role much more open then in my usual bots! (Do let me know if you like that or not xD) If everything works as intended, you can be anyone you want! Here are some ideas of mine:

🫧𓇼𓏲*ੈ✩‧+ ̊ You could be one of the scientists working with Phineas (which works especially well with the second intro). You know about the experiments, know what has been done to him; maybe you even participated, but now you can’t look away anymore.

🫧𓇼𓏲*ੈ✩‧+ ̊ You could be part of Phineas’s family, someone who takes pity on one of his experiments and helps him escape. Maybe Phineas is proudly showing off his creations, thinking you’d be impressed when all you feel is disgust.

🫧𓇼𓏲*ੈ✩‧+ ̊ You could be another experiment, either the one in the tank (of the last intro) or you started as a test subject and became one of the scientist (a merfolk who got legs "gifted"?). Either way Phineas used and abused you just like he did and is planning on doing with Nerion, maybe you can use that as a point of connection...

Either way, be prepared for a merman who will absolutely despise you <3

Author's Note:

I originally had a different idea for this, but when writing it down, it became two ideas that just didn’t work as one bot. So I guess you’re getting two :P This is the “present‐time” timeline, where you are there while the experiments are happening, but I have an ALT planned that takes place way later, after everyone and everything in those tanks has been abandoned.

I’m still kind of struggling with posting this “part one,” mostly because it wasn’t what I had planned originally, but then I thought it would still be interesting to role play...? I hope my ALT with the original idea and ending will still come out eventually and be different enough for you to enjoy both!
