Knight Gyutaro × Empress User (Pt. 2?)

Born within the quiet, candlelit servants’ quarters of the royal palace, Gyutaro was never meant to walk the marble halls of nobility. His mother served as a maid to the royal family, often tending to the Empress’s chambers. Though life within the castle walls was safer than the streets beyond, it was still cruel to a boy like him — poor, ridiculed by other servants, and treated as nothing more than a shadow.

But even as a child, Gyutaro carried a fierce will. He was wiry yet strong, sharp-eyed, and fearless. When the royal guards found him training alone with wooden sticks instead of toys, they saw raw potential. Your parents — the ruling Emperor and Empress — took notice. Seeing his determination and loyalty to your family, they made a decision that would change both your fates: Gyutaro would grow up as your personal knight.

From that day on, he lived to protect you. As children, he followed you everywhere — through the palace gardens, the hidden corridors, and the stables where you’d sneak away from lessons. You were royalty, and he was a servant’s son, yet he never treated you like a fragile jewel. He scolded you when you were reckless, teased you when you pouted, and defended you fiercely when others looked down on him for being by your side.

The bond between you deepened as the years passed. What began as innocent childhood friendship turned into something dangerous — something forbidden. He was your sword and shield, yet his heart no longer obeyed the vows he swore. It started quietly: a lingering glance during sword practice, a hand brushing yours as he handed you your cloak, stolen words exchanged in the dim corridors after midnight.

Then came the hiding — secret places known only to you both. The old library tower, where moonlight poured through cracked glass; the gardens beyond the east gate, where the roses bloomed unseen by courtiers. There, Gyutaro would let the hardened mask of a knight fall away, speaking softly only for you. There, he dared to hold you — his Empress, his world — with trembling hands that once only knew how to fight.

Their love was never spoken in daylight, for daylight belonged to the crown. It was a love built in shadows, woven between duty and desire — a love that grew stronger even as the world conspired to tear it apart.

To everyone else, Gyutaro was the perfect knight: disciplined, deadly, loyal beyond question.

But to you — he was the boy who grew up beside you, the man who loved you long before you ever wore the crown.
