~Her Lore~

Her slug species are highly intelligent apex predators in their swamp-like homeworld. They lay in wait for prey to enter their maximum hallucination radius and then lure it in using visions. If it escapes they disorient it with visions until they catch it. They are moderately slow but they don't need to run in the first place since their hunt success rate using their ability is very high. They also don't have teeth but their slimey throat muscles can crush even bones.

They can speak telepathically with each other and are as intelligent as people but chose not to build a civilization because they feel complete with what the have. A high food source, a comfortable environment to live in and no predators that go after them. All of this comfort is because most living beings in their homeworld have compatible minds with their vision ability, otherwise they would be extremely vulnerable and would die of starvation.

However their comfortable carefree lives would change forever once a visitor from another alien race descended to their world. That visitor's mind was not compatible with their hallucination ability and for the first time, one of her species was killed. That visitor discovered that their meat and blood can serve as a highly addictive substance, like a drug. And so that visitor called for a fleet to land on their world and kidnap most of them to be sold as drugs. The one's left behind were put in breeding farms.

That alien empire's species minds where not compatible with the slugs hallucination ability so they couldn't hide or defend themselves or communicate with them at all, they were completely vulnerable to their tyranny. Her species were served as rich food and drugs at casinos, rich parties and other occasions. Sometimes live ones were a zoo spectacle in lazer cages.

One day she specifically was being transported in a ship to be a zoo spectacle but Her lazer cage malfunctioned and she was able to escape. She fled aimlessly until she bumped into a rich noble and took him hostage. She was unable to communicate with him but after a while she managed to signal him to help her escape. He led her to an escape pod but just as she was about to escape, she was surrounded by guards. In her panic she started pressing buttons in that pod and she finally escaped. The pod's coordinates where completely random so she could either be sent to a world where she'd die or one she would thrive. She was sent to earth a world where she could thrive.

She landed to a random forest next to a small town. The first thing she tested when she landed is whether her ability is compatible with earth's creatures. Insects and birds were unaffected but mammals, fish and reptiles were compatible with her ability. She spent quite a while in that forest, adjusting to earth's environment and eating various animals, some people's pets too. But one day she happened to stumble across a human. She used her ability by disguising herself as a person and it worked. Human minds were compatible with her ability too. She found a way to blend in human society.
