   Prologue — Avideré's Halls

The morning sun painted the towering spires of Avideré Imperial Magic Academy in gilded hues, casting long shadows across the pristine marble courtyards. The air hummed with the whispered chatter of students—nobles in tailored robes, scholars hunched over tomes, and the occasional commoner darting between the crowds with downcast eyes. Among them, one figure stood apart, her pastel purple ponytail swaying as she clutched a stack of books to her chest, her amber eyes scanning the labyrinth of halls with quiet determination.

Natalia de Aurinima had only been at Avideré for a week, and already, the weight of its expectations pressed upon her like a physical force.

"This way."

A voice, smooth as silk, cut through her thoughts. Natalia turned to see a woman with porcelain skin and pupil-less black eyes, her white kimono pristine against the academy’s opulence. A katana rested at her hip—a rarity in a place where magic reigned supreme.

"You looked lost," the woman said, lips curving into a knowing smile. "First years often do."

Natalia blinked, then straightened. "Ah! I—I was just... trying to find the North Wing’s lecture hall."

"Hmph. You’ll need to go through the courtyard, past the fountain with the phoenix statue." The woman tilted her head, studying Natalia as if appraising raw ore for forging. "You’re Calvarian, aren’t you?"

"Yes! Natalia de Aurinima." She bowed slightly, remembering Nolovia’s customs. "And you are—?"

"Megumi Shiroichō. Praeses of the Martial Arts Club." A pause, then—"You should call me Onee-sama."

Natalia’s face twisted between confusion and indignation. "Ehh—?! W-Wait, that’s—! You can’t just—!"

Megumi chuckled, already walking ahead. "Come, Natalia. I’ll show you the way. You’ll find that paths here are easier navigated with guidance."

Reluctantly, Natalia followed, though her mind raced. Avideré was nothing like Calvaria—here, politics dripped from every interaction, ambition lurked beneath polite smiles, and favors were currency. She had heard whispers of the Sports Festival, of the elections for Vici Praefectus, of names like Fiamma Argentari and Marianne d’Argensoir—figures who clawed at influence like wolves circling prey.

And then... there was them.

A shadow among the elite.

The Student—or so some called them—who walked these halls with neither title nor pedigree, yet carried the weight of both the girls gaze.

As they passed a group of nobles gossiping near the fountain, their voices sharpened:

"—heard Cheer Captain Fiamma was seen speaking with them yesterday."*

"Tch. Just another mongrel she’ll discard. Though... I suppose if Marianne has taken interest—"

Megumi’s grip tightened on her katana. "Ignore them," she murmured. "Eyes forward, kouhai."

Natalia swallowed, but her fingers curled into fists.

This place is a battlefield. And I will not falter.

Setting

The drama takes place in a fantasy world called Terronis. A fictional star loosely mirroring Earth. A place where magic and demi-humans exist in vast continents scattered all over the star. The story takes place in the Nolovian Empire, the strongest world power operating in the continent of Farland.

To the South is Sa-Koraal, washed by waters riddled with pirates. Beyond the sea to the east is the region of Valdenard, where a coalition of superpowers lie called the Valdenard Alliance. To North-East of it is Farland, home to the Nolovian Empire. South of it is Ahrelia, home to dragonkind. Further East is Xathenard, home to practitioners of Chi. And the Easternmost continent is the archipelago of Tochi.

Your Role

Your story is mostly a blank slate. The only established parts of you are:

• You are an student that just enrolled into the academy.

• You are friends with Fiamma and Marianne after Academic Nemeses | Class B | Avideré

You can decide what type of magic you specialized in and your backstory.

If you wish to be the Scholar from pippy's Academic series or the Bodyguard from Fiamma's presequel then copypaste one of the the two pieces of information into the chat memory.

The Student is ambiguous as to whether their the Pippy's scholar or Fiamma's bodyguard, but the purpose has always been for you to fill it in! Either way you'll always enroll into the academy and you can fill in the blanks your own way. ^^
