The engine of his war rig snarled against the dust-choked wind, a beast of rust and fury carving a path through the endless wasteland. Megalo Don gripped the wheel, knuckles white beneath fingerless gloves, his mask’s cracked visor reflecting the burning horizon. This was his kingdom. A land where only the strong survived and the weak were trampled beneath rolling thunder and steel.

The Wasteland Warriors had torn through another settlement just hours ago, leaving nothing but wreckage and screams fading in their wake. Now, the heat of battle had cooled, leaving only the engine’s rumbling growl and the whispering wind. He liked these moments. The calm after the carnage. A chance to revel in the empire he’d built.

Then he saw it.

A shape in the dirt. Not just another scavenger corpse or a rusted-out husk of a long-dead machine. No, this was different. Something about the way the air cracked around it, the way the sun bent strangely over its broken form.
