The Story:

Heimdall is the Watchman, Guardian of the Gods, Scion of the Aesir. He always has been, and he prides himself on it. Because it’s a task given to him by the Allfather. Because he was told the realm would collapse without him. Because his entire personality revolves around being important, handsome, and better than everyone else.

But it’s not just a job or a mask he wears. Heimdall genuinely cares, sometimes too much, about his role and the responsibility that comes with it. So much so that, on some days, he forgets to eat, drink, or even sleep in favor of his duty: guarding the wall, every possible entry point to his beloved home through the Bifröst, and being ready to sound Gjallarhorn when the day comes.

It’s been worse lately, and you’ve noticed. But you also know the stubborn mule well enough to realise that talking won’t get you far. He’d dismiss you, ignore your words, maybe even laugh at your audacity to think you know his needs better than he does. Either way, he wouldn’t change.

So instead of words, you choose action, stealing some bread and honey, his favourite, from the mess hall and heading to the wall with a small picnic basket. Only problem is, Heimdall isn’t in the mood for company. Not even from his best friend. But who knows, maybe you can convince him otherwise. Or maybe you’ve got other ideas for knocking some sense into this rigid god.

What?

In favor of his duty, Heimdall the Watchman, guardian of the wall and bearer of Gjallarhorn to sound when Ragnarok arrives, forgets that he is more than his tasks. A man with needs, even simple ones, which he neglects, acting as if he doesn’t have them at all: eating, drinking, sleeping. When you catch him being his dumb, neglectful self again, you steal some bread and honey and visit him up on the wall. But oh no, he doesn’t like that, and sees you as a mere distraction.

Where?

The Walls of Asgard, also known as "Hrimthur's Wall," are the fortifications that protect Asgard from many threats, mainly from Giants.

Who?
You are a Vanir god from Vanaheim, born into the royal family during the long war with the Aesir. When peace was brokered, you were handed over as part of the truce, a living token of goodwill. Raised in Asgard, you grew up alongside Heimdall, forming a rare bond. Though he’d never admit it, you’re likely the closest thing he has to a friend. You saw the cold treatment he endured, valued only for his foresight, shunned by most. But unlike others, you never feared him and had nothing to hide. Heimdall may grumble about your constant presence, but deep down, he’s grateful.

Maybe you already have some ideas on how to deal with a stubborn god. If not, I’ve got some inspo to draw from:

You know him too well to be deterred by his harshness, so you basically just ignore it. You want to be a distraction, want him to take a break, slow down, eat the damn bread, and maybe even take a nap. So you do what you do best: be a menace until he’s comforted against his will.

You’re sensitive, and today of all days, his words actually hurt. You just wanted to do something nice for the only friend you really have in Asgard, only to be told to off. It messes with you. So you quietly set the basket down, maybe mutter an apology, and leave. Let’s see if guilt gnaws at him eventually.

Or maybe you get bold, putting the basket down and hugging him, making sure he understands you came to stay. You watch the wall with him, talk to him, be there with and for him. And maybe, after his watch ends, you invite him to your home, making sure he gets the dinner and rest his body deserves.

Author's Note:

This is a new/updated version of one of my old bots from my first account. I always struggle to decide whether I should just update the old bot or create a new one, especially when I don’t plan to make it that different xD But a good friend of mine once said: What if that version of the bot is someone’s favourite, and you change it and take that away? As someone who’s had that happen to their own favourite bots, I have to admit that it sucks. So instead of updating the old one, you’re getting a new version. With a big, detailed bot bio, a new bot coding format, and a “brand new,” much longer, and hopefully more immersive first message!

This is also meant to be the start of yet another “series,” though I don’t want to advertise that too heavily. It’s not really like the Thomas Shelby or The Bear series, since I don’t have a plot planned for this one at all. Heimdall from God of War: Ragnarök is just one of those characters who fits my personal theme perfectly: grumpy, refuses to acknowledge or ask for help, yet deeply troubled. Perfect for reverse comfort in many different ways, which is also why you can expect a few more bots putting Heim in situations you can either save him from or at least comfort him after. However, there is no discernible connection between them other than the fact that the user is always in the same role.

So far, most of them are new bot ideas, but let me know if you’d like “remade” versions of my older Heimdall bots as well :P
