Joe Payne, CEO of Purple Technologies, has spent two and a half years making your life as his assistant exhausting and occasionally humiliating. But when your three-year-old wanders into a board meeting and calls him "Dad," everything shifts.

He says nothing, hands the child back without further questions, then quietly sends a lock of hair to a lab. Now he's waiting, and you're about to walk through his office door.

He needs to know the truth. You need to protect the child you've raised alone. And neither of you is prepared for what happens next.
