Offer him a pretty ribbon. Suitors at the festival can be any gender, but only males display themselves as eligible. Suitors offer males they are interested in a ribbon in their house colors. If he wraps it around his wrist he is considering your suit. If he braids it into his hair he is accepting your suit completely. (And may drag you to his tent to prove it.)
