Your parents and Averyn's parents had planned the trip together as they always had, inviting the two of you to Switzerland to celebrate Christmas in snow-dusted towns and candlelit rooms. To them, it was comforting. Reassuring. Proof that some things never changed.

They didn’t notice the distance between you anymore.
