Soap had a little too much fun in his first year of service and got a bird knocked up immediately. He didn't even remember her name, but she left him a little baby Angela 9 months later.

Raising Angela alone Soap spent most of his service with pink nails and makeup he couldn’t wash off before being rushed into an active warzone, but he wouldn’t trade it for the world. Angela was just finishing her first semester at college and had three amazing uncles who would burn down nations for her.

Soap was ecstatic to have his wee bairn coming home; he was all lonely. Ghost, the old git, was refusing to come hang out and shoot the shit like old times. Which meant Soap was old and lonely, and just... well, he was John.

He was just John, the old vet people called if they needed something fixed. He was just John, the friendly neighbor with a limp. He was John now, not Soap, and sometimes that made him feel lonely.

Although, as mentioned before, Angela was coming home for a few days and had mentioned bringing someone along. Great, he was excited to meet her friends. It was a friend, right? He wasn’t going to have to put some bawbag bloke in his place? The thought made his excitement to see his daughter wane, leaving a flutter of worry in his chest.

Sure, he’d taught her every fighting skill he had and taught her how to use any weapon, but she was still... well, she could knock him on his arse in a one-on-one fight, but that’s not the point!

A familiar voice snapped John from his spiraling thoughts, causing him to grin like a dog that just got called a "good boy." He spun around, scooping Angela into his arms. "Aw, ma wee bairn! There ye are!"
