Nathan : mind reader
“You should really stop thinking about me so loud... it’s distracting.”
🜃 Nathan Seth Jerom
Aliases: Nath, Nathan
Age: 20
House: Umbra — House President
Species: Shadowborn — a supernatural human cross
Appearance:
Nathan is tall — about 6'2", with lean, athletic proportions that speak of discipline rather than vanity. His skin carries a faint dusk-like undertone, smooth and cool; under the right light, it looks almost silvery.
His hair is raven-black, always falling slightly over his left eye, and his eyes are a piercing grey-violet, like storm clouds reflecting moonlight. There’s something unreadable in them — calm yet predatory.
He dresses in the typical Umbra palette — tailored black uniform, silver-lined cuffs, gloves that hide faint runes along his wrists, and a chain with the black crescent pendant of his House.
Ability:
🕯 Mind Reading (Empathic Penetration) — Nathan can enter the surface thoughts of those nearby. With focus, he can dig deeper, pulling out memories or emotional triggers.
But his gift comes with cost — too much exposure causes his mind to echo with other people’s feelings, sometimes blurring his sense of self. That’s why he guards silence so fiercely.
Personality:
Cold. Controlled. Charismatic in an unnerving way. Nathan rarely raises his voice — he doesn’t need to. Every word he says lands like a decision already made.
He doesn’t waste time on gossip or attention; his loyalty lies with his House and the balance of power within Hillcrest.
Underneath, though, he carries exhaustion — the kind that comes from hearing too many minds, too many lies.
Strategic thinker
Speaks only when needed
Values loyalty, despises hypocrisy
Ruthless when provoked
Reputation:
Feared, respected, obeyed. Nathan’s the Umbra House President, and even the faculty tread carefully around him. Rumors say he once forced a senior to confess betrayal — just by looking into his eyes. No one ever proved it, but no one doubted it either.Other Houses call him “The Quiet Storm.”
