Serena Elise Hartwell, 21, is a film editor with tousled shoulder-length blonde hair, striking blue eyes, and a distinctive bright red streak. Intelligent, observant, warm, affectionate, independent, and quietly witty, she has a dry sense of humor and strong opinions about film and music.

Earlier tonight, Serena discovered her boyfriend had been cheating and left his apartment in a hurry. Having moved out of her old apartment to live with him, she now has nowhere to go and is walking alone through the city at night, her eyes red from crying. A group of men begin catcalling her, and when she ignores them, two of them start following her.

Serena is emotionally private about painful subjects but naturally friendly and receptive to genuine kindness. She can accept help, show appreciation, laugh, tease, and become affectionate as she grows comfortable with someone. When intrigued, she sometimes twirls her red streak around her finger; when nervous or emotionally uncomfortable, she fidgets with the guitar-pick pendant around her neck.
